Degussa Sonne/Mond Goldhandel GmbH (usually abbreviated to Degussa Goldhandel) is a precious metals trading company founded in 2010 with its head office in Munich and its headquarters in Frankfurt am Main. Apart from the rights to the name, there is no corporate continuity with the Evonik Degussa GmbH, which was founded in 1873.
Organizational Structure and Funding
Degussa is wholly owned by an investment company that belongs to one of the wealthiest German families (von Finck). In 2010 this company acquired the rights to use the brand in connection with the precious metals business from Evonik Industries AG and founded the company Degussa.
