Hannes Gissurarson is the academic director of the Icelandic Research Centre for Innovation and Economic Growth.During is time at Oxford University Gissurarson co-founded the Oxford Hayek Society. He is friends with former Prime Minister Davíð Oddsson, who later became Chairman of Central Bank.
